Welcome to my website. If you have a broken Xbox or PSP this is a good place to be. My
name is Lynn Brown and I'm a professional video game repair tech based in Oklahoma
City. I know there's a whole lot of confusing information on the Internet about video
game problems and what your repair options are. This site is here to present the facts
and show you how to get your game up and running again for the least amount of money
as well as when to give up and buy a new one.
If you've spent any time at all searching the Internet for Xbox repair information, you
would have come across a lot of sites that offer Xbox "modding" or "mods". Those guys
specialize in the installation of mod chips which allow your Xbox to do all sorts of things
Microsoft didn't intend for them to do. Many of them are professionals and can have your
Xbox doing everything but the dishes in no time. I'm not one of those guys. I just make
thegame consoles work again like they're supposed to. Nothing fancy.
You've probably also noticed that local repair services such as my own are few and far
between. Once your warranty has run out, Microsoft and Sony both charge a lot of money
to repair your console, and in most areas, your only other option is to mail the whole
thing off to someone you've never heard of, cross your fingers, and hope you don't get
ripped off. Unfortunately PSP's are rather complicated gadgets and anything other than
the simplest repair, like replacing the analog stick, is really better left to the
professionals at this point. Xboxes however are easy to deal with and basic repairs like
replacing the DVD drive are pretty much fool-proof when you're armed with the right
information and tools.
Despite what you may have come across, fixing your Xbox really isn't that complicated.
90% of people with Xbox problems are dealing with the exact same worn out component,
and there's only four ways to fix it.
The one part of everyone's Xbox system that will invariably need to be replaced sooner
or later is the laser in the DVD drive that reads your discs, and these are the most
common laser related symptoms:-
- A message comes up saying "Your Xbox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an
Xbox game, DVD movie, or audio CD. Also check to see if the disc is dirty or
damaged. Remove the disc to continue."
- When you put a disc in, NOTHING HAPPENS. You just have the main menu as if
there's no disc at all in the tray. Sometimes this happens intermittently and
sometimes with just one type of media. It may play audio CD's but not games or
DVD's.
- Games or movies are slow to load and they'll freeze up, skip, or just stop playing
halfway through for no apparent reason.
- Brand new games won't play but old ones continue to work just fine.
"Hi, Just wanted to

"Hello, I just
received the DVD
drive that I ordered
from you a couple of
days ago. I am just
writing to say Thank

wonderful. My son

Lynn - Just wanted
to follow up to tell
you that indeed, the
kit arrived on Friday,
and following your
excellent instructions
I had the Xbox back
up and running
Friday night. I really
have to hand it to
you - I wasn't quite
sure what to expect
when I ordered the
kit, but your
instructions and the
included tool made
it easy. Thanks for
providing such a
good service.
Sincerely,
John K
If any of the above symptoms describe what your Xbox is doing I've put together a simple
kit to get it up and running good as new in no time. It doesn't matter what version Xbox you
have or what brand of DVD drive that's in it. And best of all, you won't have to mail your
Xbox anywhere or pay someone else good money to do a job you can easily take care of
yourself.
In less than half an hour you yourself can replace the entire Xbox DVD drive and have your
Xbox running at top speed. Best of all, there are absolutely no technical skills required. I've
gone to great pains to take every detail into consideration and will provide you with clear,
concise, step-by-step instructions. If you can operate a screwdriver this is a great
opportunity to save yourself some money and have your Xbox repaired in a matter of days
rather than weeks.
Below you'll find an outline of what the DVD replacment kit consists of and a link to learn
more about it, as well as what your other options are when dealing with the above
mentioned problems . I've also included on this website information about other things that
can go wrong with an Xbox, what you can do to fix it, and PSP repair info too. Have a look
around, and if you have any questions just send me an e-mail, I'll be happy to answer
promptly. LBrown@xboxrepairservice.com
